Tacoma Light Trail – 5 – 9 PM, Dec 31 – Jan 11

It’s that time again as we complete another year on this terrestrial ball, resolving the past, and looking toward new opportunity. It is an introspective time, and you can always count on the Tacoma Light Trail to support us in these transitional moments.

PRISM by Sahanna

Woman in a darkened room posing within her multi layered video installation.

Nestled within the busy storefront of Tsunami Tattoo within the Fulcrum Gallery building you will find a striking new installation for this this years Tacoma’s Light Trail.

PRISM is a light-based installation that explores how projection interacts with optical elements to reveal a world of hidden color, geometry, and motion. Through refraction, PRISM reflects on perception, identity, and the transformation of information as it moves through new mediums. A beam becomes a spectrum, a surface becomes a space, and an image becomes an environment.

Through this unfolding, PRISM becomes a meditation on inner life – how identity splinters, recombines, and transforms as it moves through the world. Light behaves the way we do: bending, blooming, fracturing, and returning changed.

Sahana is a Washington based visual artist with a passion for crafting immersive experiences that resonate on a deeper level, and challenges the boundaries of perception. To learn more about Sahana and her work please visit her Instagram Page
